There are two primary photographer approaches to wedding photography that are recognized today: Traditional wedding photography and Photojournalistic wedding photography. Edisto Island Photographer can provide traditional wedding photography, where the photographer uses more classically posed images and a great deal of photographer control and interaction on the day of the wedding. Edisto Island Photographer also offers photojournalistic wedding photography, which takes its cue from editorial reporting styles and focuses more on candid and unposed images, with little photographer set up. These are two extremes of what Edisto Island Photographer offers and my photographer services can encompass both or favor one photography style over the other. A third photographer style that is becoming more and more in demand is the fashion-based photographer. Shooting as a contemporary/fashion-based wedding photographer, photojournalistic images of the events of the day are combined with posed images that are inspired by editorial fashion photography, as would be found in magazines like Vogue or Vanity Fair. Edisto Island Photographer is pioneering to bring this style to the Edisto Island photography industry. Another term used to describe photographers, contemporary wedding photography, is broadly used to describe a wedding photographer that is not of a traditional nature. The emphasis in "true" contemporary wedding photography is for the photographer to capture the story and atmosphere from the day, so the viewer has an appreciation of what the wedding was like, rather than have the photographer shoot a series of pre-determined poses. However, the contemporary wedding photography term is often mistaken by many photographers as any photographers image that is not posed or formal, encouraging many photographers to capture and present uninspired candids. Edisto Island Photographers services will demonstrate this style as it is defined. The advent and advancement of digital photography cameras and increased use of the internet have allowed many people to offer services as photojournalistic or contemporary wedding photographers. However, "true" contemporary wedding photography is more than just having a photographer take informal photographs, it involves the proper use of composition, lighting and timing to capture photography that has a strong visual appeal.
